Goodbye to the Daytona 500, hello to the real start of the 2012 NASCAR season with some good old fashion racing at Phoenix.

What do you think?
I’m sorry NASCAR, but when it comes to the 2012 Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway including this past Monday night into Tuesday early morning the Daytona 500, for the most part, I would rather just forget I saw it. I mean has anyone really stopped and thought about what really happened during Speedweeks 2012.

Yeah, sure there was some good moments like Danica Patrick taking the pole for Nationwide race, John King capturing first Truck win, James Buescher capturing first Nationwide win, Matt Kenseth returning to victory lane in the Daytona 500, Dale Earnhardt Jr. starting the season off with a 2ND place finish in 500 and Brad Keselowski giving fans on track pix during red flag of Daytona 500.

But…the bad: wrecked, wrecked, wrecked racecars due to vicious racing, racecar meets jet dry that results in major blaze (thankfully both drivers walked away and are ok), Biffle plays blocker for teammate to win Daytona 500, and NASCAR is being NASCAR over penalizing the #48 Cup car over C-Posts that might have been raced several times last season with another six race suspension for Knaus – Hendrick pays and appeals.

Like I said, in most cases I would much rather forget about Speedweeks 2012 and instead I’m just looking forward to the real start of the 2012 NASCAR season with some good old fashion racing at Phoenix. I’m just glad there are four restrictor plate races per year.
