Well ladies and gentlemen, moments ago, NASCAR announced that the #48 Hendrick Motorsports and Chad Knaus penalty has been unanimously upheld. Personally I would have thought that the appeals board would have cut the penalty in half, but I should have known better.
But right afterwards, Rick Hendrick said "we are going to go ahead to the next level and make our case one more time." So now here we go again, but you know RCR found some success in their next level of appeal back in September 2010 when they appealed their penalties over #33 Clint Bowyer ride, maybe Hendrick Motorsports will too. And yes Chad Knaus will be on the pit box for the #48 Jimmie Johnson on Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway. But I think Knaus should just start his suspension now.
But even more, I think the appeals process needs a complete overhaul and NASCAR needs to explain to the fans why they penalties a particular team. Well that's it for this round, let this circus go to round 2, serious...
