The end of an era: Why I sold RaceDriven.com and what's in store for my next two projects ThinkingBrian.com and BrianVermette.com.

What do you think?
Welcome readers. Today I’m proud to announce that I have sold my previous blog RaceDriven.com to Race-driven.com Inc. with the new owners continuing the site as a blog that will retain all of my old blog posts/archives so readers can still access those posts.

At the same time, following the transfer of the domain and site, I have left RaceDriven.com (including the email address brian@racedriven.com) to move on to a new project, yes ThinkingBrian.com.

I would like to thank you all of the readers, commenters, advertisers and more that helped me develop RaceDriven into the blog you see today. Hopefully you will continue to read RaceDriven and follow me at BrianVermette.com and of course my newest project ThinkingBrian.com.

Why I sold RaceDriven.com?
I’ve owned RaceDriven.com for a good 8 years and in that time I built a successful blog that included 7 full years of archives. Over the last 7 years, RaceDriven has opened doors for me in ways that I never could have imagined including allowing me to voice my opinion, attend NASCAR races as a blogger/media member, connecting with companies, making a little bit of money here and there and a lot more.

But while all of that was incredible to experience and I mean incredible including seeing Clint Bowyer’s score his first victory in the Cup Series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway while sitting on top of his teammate at the time pit box. I had grown tired of blogging on just NASCAR and Automobile and simply put, outgrow the site. Of course as many remember I put RaceDriven on idle back in April (2012) for the second time in one year to relax and develop ThinkingBrian.com.

I really didn’t know what I wanted to do with RaceDriven once I put it on idle. But when I was emailed by Race-driven.com Inc. not to long ago about selling the domain to them, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity especially with them wanting to continue building the blog. I was thrilled that we worked out a pretty good deal for both of us. And in selling RaceDriven, I could now move on to bigger and better things. I wish the new owners the best of luck with RaceDriven and I hope they find the success that I did in the site.

Now I’m looking forward and that is ThinkingBrian.com and BrianVermette.com.

What is the future of ThinkingBrian.com?
I started ThinkingBrian.com (v3.0) The Blogstream back in February 2012 and I have never looked back. I truly believe that in the past 6-7 months of owning this blog, that I have created a good foundation for what I hope will be another successful blog. Keep in mind in order to have a successful blog, it takes not months, but years of hard work, good content, good connections, and interaction with readers.

I see ThinkingBrian.com continuing on as a blogstream that interacts well with social media including Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and more. ThinkingBrian allows me to blog/talk about several topics (broader topics I might add) on NASCAR, Automobiles, Motorsports, Entertainment, Life and beyond. I see the future as being very bright and ThinkingBrian evolving over the years. What you see in the archives now is what you will see for years to come, only more of.

One change that will happen in the near future is the removal of FeedBurner. Feedburner’s RSS feed service just don’t work anymore and more and more readers are reading sites by other meanings including social media instead of RSS feeds.

What about BrianVermette.com?
But while I'm saying goodbye to RaceDriven.com and hello to ThinkingBrian.com blogging wise, I really see the distance future being at BrianVermette.com too. I want to create a professional site in BrianVermette.com that will start with an about me page and continue to build up BV as needed in the future.

One item I need is a place to keep a stream of my tweets from Twitter on BV. I believe that since Twitter is so limited that I really want to continue being on Twitter more, I will need to create a stream or something of my tweets in a blog post format for the future especially when the day comes when I no longer want to blog. Twitter is a cool site and it allows you to interact with so many people including celebrities and it’s so simple. So see the future with something like that more in addition to blogging.

So with that said, goodbye RaceDriven.com, hello ThinkingBrian.com and later on BrianVermette.com, now here’s to the future.
