Just Thinking: Disappointed that SPEED didn't cover the Bathurst 1000 live again this year, but what a race nonetheless with Whincup and Dumbrell in victory lane.

What do you think?
Interesting...Earlier tonight I just finished watching the 50th Bathurst 1000 from Australia and what a race it was. After a 6 hour endurance race, the race would come down to a duel for the win between leader Whincup and second place Reynolds with Whincup picking up the victory. It should be noted that in the closing laps, Craig Lowndes came back to finish 3rd.

What made me think of it was I remember watching the Bathurst 100 last year. SPEED (Channel) decided to sent Darrell Waltrip and Mike Joy to Australia to cover the famous Bathurst 1000. It was the first time that I had heard of the famous endorse race and the Mount Panorama course before. Amazingly enough, last years race come down a late race duel as well, but last year it was leader Garth Tander holding off a hard charging Craig Lowndes to capture the victory. After that race, I touched on it on my old blog and that I really enjoyed the race and just hoped that SPEED would return to Australia for this year, but I was disappointed to see that they didn't.

What a shame, I would had loved to see the racing at its entirely lead up to the amazing duel for the victory between Whincup and Reynolds. That's why nothing beats live racing especially on television. Like I said, I was just thinking.
