Last night on a WindTunnel, the IZOD IndyCar Series unveiled its 2013 schedule and boy has it been meant with some mixed reactions overnight especially when it comes to the three doubleheader events with the series running races on both a Saturday and Sunday at the same venue. Personally I think the reintroduction of the doubleheaders is actually a pretty good idea and might give the fans staying at the track for the entire race weekend some good entertainment for there money,
However there are two things that have caught my eye about the 2013 schedule:
1. The gap between the September 1st. race and the October 5th race is terrible. Of course I wonder if that is a hole to be filled by a Road America race? Or a return to New Hampshire Motor Speedway after taking 2012 off? Not holding my breathe, but nice to think about.
2. I'm reading that Bernard is still open to adding a race at Providence, R.I. if details can be worked out or possibly New Orleans if Rhode Island doesn’t materialize. I've been to Providence (I live 20 minutes away) and I don't really see that as being an option. But I would consider attending the race if it happened. Interesting...
