Earlier this week, NASCAR unveiled yet another format change for this year's 2012 NASCAR Sprint All-Star race. The description is below in the image.

"My Take: As fan myself of the All-Star race, I love the concept behind the All-Star including the fan vote, but not the ever changing formats. And that goes for the addition of four or five segments to the race, its like the term "playing god", I just want to see real racing period. Of course I would also like to see this race at Iowa Speedway or another short track, but that isn't going to happen.
So here is my preferred format for the All-Star Race:
70 laps divided up into three segments. 30 laps, 30 laps, 10 laps. (Yes this format was used from 1992-2001) NASCAR can even include the only green flag count. Even an elimination would cool. Maybe after the second 30 lap segment, only the top 12 advance to the final 10 laps. Yes its bold, but that's what the All-Star race is all about. Keep in mind that the first All-Star race back in 1985 has been just 70 laps flat out.
